While many peoples’ views of food are less than ecstatic, mine is the polar opposite. I believe that food is an artistic medium and that chefs and lovers of food are artists. It is distressing to live in a country where so many people shove food mindlessly down their throats without caring what, exactly, that particular edible is.
It is of utmost importance to understand the growing magnanimity of food culture in our world. We no longer live in a time where food is merely a means of survival for humankind. Rather, many people enjoy food as the most diverting entertainment.
Lavish dinners have been the basis for many a deal-sealing business transaction, ever since the founding of our nation. Thomas Jefferson hosted a meal that changed the course of our nation’s development, and today, many of my corporate companions are persuaded to use the wining and dining method of cajoling prospective clients to do business with them.
Too, food is the foreground to saving the world. Eulogistic though it may sound, it is true enough. Besides the fact that certain comsetibles can cause happiness through their remedial and chemical properties, dining experiences can also cause feelings of goodwill, which then lead people to do good in society. From my own experience, I know that I have held dining fundraisers that have been exceedingly successful.
Theraputic, entertaining, and progressive, food has always and will continue to rule the world whether people choose to realize it or not. If music be the love of food, rock on!
